Being the first-ever Portuguese football player in Manchester United, Ronaldo made his debut at 60' minute in 4-0 victory over Bolton Wanderer.

It is told that United's manager Alex Ferguson asked Cristiano wich number he would like to use, Ronaldo request 28, the number he used to wear in his previous team, but surprisingly it was denied, "No, you are going to use number 7".

In Manchester United there had been previous very talented footballers with this number, maybe that's why Ronaldo didn't want to request it, but along the years, matches, victories and awards he just confirmed he deserved using number 7 on his back.
